Development & Prototyping

We are expert designers specialising in working with wood. If it can be made from wood, we’re your experts. We highly recommend checking out our Portfolio page for a great illustration of the products we have manufactured for our customers. Starting with your idea, a sketch or an initial CAD outline, we develop your product ready for manufacturing. This means we work with you to refine the initial design into a final product that meets your requirements. We ensure that it is mechanically sound, ensuring that the components are designed for function and suited for manufacturing. Our team recommends the best finishes for the purpose, covering natural woodgrain finishes to specialist paint applications. The goal is to produce a candidate product that meets all of the requirements for function, durability, branding and cost.

Machining & Preparation

Bury Box Co’s manufacturing facilities are varied and include machines designed for high-volume production, as well as a hand-held finishing area. As a division of Majisign, we utilise the same production line. The preparation for manufacturing leverages our supply chain to secure all of the base materials required. Once the product designed is agreed, the production line is configured for your product and manufacturing commences. We operate on a “timber at the back, products at the front” concept, which is our way of saying that we saw, cut, engrave, laser and prepare the timber ready for paint, print or vinyl finishes. It may return to paint for clear coat or move into our assembly area, where we add any hardware.

Finishing & Assembly

Our finishing process ensures that each item passes quality assurance checks. This occurs throughout assembly and at dispatch & packaging. Crucially we package your product so it’s suited to your supply chain. Many customers require specific packaging for acceptance at their warehouses or site-specific distribution, directly from us, often in white-label packaging. Whatever your needs, we’re able to produce your product and deliver it in the right way.
Our manufacturing process uses automated using CNC as well as manual techniques for finishing and assembly.

Direct-to-wood printing and engraving

Direct to wood printing and engraving brings a high-quality finish to products that benefit from being entirely wood-based. Whilst the application of vinyl can suit some items, this approach provides a fantastic finish. Naturally engraving is for the lifetime of the product. Direct to wood printing can remain unfinished or can be coated with opaque finishes, depending on the desired use and feel.
